Hello Peñasquitos Neighbors, Ranger Gina Washington here,

I wanted to share with you some information from County Los Pen Preserve Sr. Ranger Tim Leon, (858) 484-7504.  *The County has two big events planned:

Thursday, May 26th, they will be applying pesticide to oak trees to combat Gold Spotted Oak Borer along ALL County trails on the Southside of the creek.  The staging area of Black Mountain Road and all trails will be closed.  The Ranch House area will remain open.  Trails on the Northside of the creek will remain open and available.

Saturday, May 28th, memorial day weekend, the park will be VERY BUSY and parking will be limited.  We are strongly encouraging equestrians to avoid the trails on the east side or to anticipate lots of traffic, bikes, and people on the trails.  There is a 200+ person mountain bike event, a wedding at the Ranch House, and the very popular memorial day weekend softball/baseball tournament.
