We need YOUR help reopening our libraries and parks for distant learning

Hello PQ Friends and Neighbors, I received a request from our City Councilmember, Chris Cate from District 6 urging us to send letters to the Mayor to help ease the educational COVID challenges of distant learning by opening our libraries and parks to expand our areas of use (with distanced settings). We need your help and we’re asking all residents of 92129 to join us in our letter-writing campaign to Mayor Faulkner.

These facilities are still not open.

On July 28th, prior to the start of the new school year, I released a robust proposal for in-class and distance learning options which included reopening city libraries. The following month, on August 27th, I issued a memorandum to Mayor Faulconer requesting the city to evaluate options to safely reopen all city libraries.

We need YOU. We need you to send this letter to Mayor Kevin Faulconer at [email protected], asking him to look at reopening our city libraries and parks for distance learning solutions.

It is vital to ensure every child has an equal opportunity to learn and succeed during this unprecedented pandemic.
