The Mt. Carmel Family Learning Center is the brainchild of MCHS Principal, Greg Magno.

After three years the center is staffed with guidance counselors and tutors ( shown in photo Michael Bichler and Zak Callum of MCHS) to help teens keep pace with the family demands of before and after school sibling care and access to technology to help them bridge the challenges and say ‘yes’ to academic success.  The center is ‘family friendly’ meaning MCHS students who care siblings attending Los Penasquitos Elementary School can bring their family with them to the learning center and have a safe and supportive place to be and get homework done.

The center is open to ‘ALL’ students from MCHS, Black Mountain Middle School and Los Penasquitos Elementary School serving a niche population that may otherwise become unseen and unsupported.

In May the Grant’s Committee heard the Sponsorship plea and the RP Town Council approved the funding to help this non-profit group meet the technology demands to help the kids keep pace and not fall behind.
