Each year the RPTC recognizes one graduating student from each public school in Rancho Peñasquitos for their volunteer efforts that benefit their school and/or community. Cash awards are given as Youth Community Service Awards.
The recipients are honored each year at the Fiesta de los Peñasquitos during the opening ceremony on the Main Stage. An elected public official, such as a city council member, mayor or assemblyman, will presents the award to each student at the Fiesta.
For our Elementary (5th Graders) and Middle School students (8th Graders), the exact qualifications and selection process for the Youth Community Service Award is specified by each school. In addition to being recognized for the community service efforts at the Fiesta, we honor them during their graduation/awards night with a small cash scholarship.
