Two Girls Raped in Park Village
September 7, 2011 in Community News, Community Notices, Important Announcements
Two 16 year old girls were raped in Park Village on Saturday night, September 3rd. The following is from a concerned citizen:
“The victims are two 16 year old girls who were visiting a house on Rideabout Lane. (The don’t live in Park Village.) They were attending a family party and went out to walk around near the greenbelt, towards Spindletop. Sometime after 9pm they were sitting on a bench together when they were attached from behind by two Hispanic males who had knives, were wearing bandanas for masks, and did have hoodies on. They were pulled at knife point to another nearby area where the rapes occurred. One of the two girls was gagged so she was unable to scream for help, the other was too terrified to scream for help. This attack was described to me as very violent.
A family member who was out looking for them was calling out and that’s when the attack ended and the assailants got away. They were said to have both left on one bike.”
For more information about this assault, please attend the Rancho Penasquitos Planning Board Meeting on Thursday, Sept 7 at 7:30 at the Doubletree Resort in Rancho Penasquitos. See this post for more info on tonight’s meeting.

I cannot make tonight’s meeting but I have long been concerned about my daughter’s safety living in Park Village and being so close the canyon at the Comm. Park where numerous illegal migrant day laborers are dwelling.
They started a large brush fire 2 years ago near the 56 freeway from an illegal camp fire. I see these young men walking daily up Black Mountain road to the Cotixan restaurant where they gather together daily. I hope the police can search all surveilance cameras near the Cotixan.
I want to help get these migrants out of the canyon or get more patrols in this area.
I am thankful that the police dept. did fly their helicopters overhead with the loud speaker announcements that helped me to be more cautious and warn my daughter. I was upset that the news did not report the story until yesterday.
Please keep us informed!!
Thank you,

What an absolutely deplorable and inexcusable act yet to jump to the conclusion that they were migrant workers simply based on there ethnicity is very prejudiced and short-sighted. I can appreciate your concern and your desire for more security but I don’t think blaming a single (legally or illegally residing) community based on individual actions is warranted. Just as the KKK does not represent the white community nor do Islamic extremists represent the Muslim community. Only those two teenagers should face direct consequences of their horrible actions because like it or not, their family and community will also be indirectly impacted.

Please see the recap from tonight’s Planning Board meeting. At this time the police do not believe the attackers were migrant workers. We all need to be careful about jumping to conclusions.
